Abstract
The current application of Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) for parallel computing tasks has shown excellent results in terms of speed-ups when compared against Central Processing Unit (CPU) processors. Rapid growth of data in terabytes & petabytes represents a huge challenge for multi-core & many-core based solution R&D. This talk describes these challenges and ongoing work in architecture design, software, and algorithms R&D to meet them.
