ABSTRACT:
Network Coding Design for Disruption Tolerant N/W
Network coding has been proposed to increase throughput and reliability in wired and wireless networks. In this talk, an overview of network coding and disruption tolerant network will first be given. Next, we discuss why existing proposed schemes for wireless mesh networks may not work well in disruption tolerant networks. Then, we will present a context aware network coding scheme that can improve network coding performance when nodes move according to non-homogeneous mobility model. Our simulation studies showed that this scheme can improve the message delivery ratio.
We also discuss some security issues related to network coding enabled wireless systems. We will show the impacts of selective dropping attacks on the delivery performance of network coding enabled wireless systems. Lastly, we present a mitigation scheme that can improve delivery performance during such attacks.
With thanks and regards,
