INVITED TALK (Tuesday): Video Surveillance with Robotics and Automatic Plants Classification by Dr. Paolo Remagnino from the Kingston University, UK

With cooperation from ICT and Computational Science (ICTCS) research
cluster, we would like to invite you to a talk "Video Surveillance
with Robotics and Automatic Plants Classification" by Dr. Paolo
Remagnino from the Kingston University, UK.

The details of the public talks are as follows :

Title : Video Surveillance with Robotics and Automatic Plants Classification
Date : 15th March 2011 (Tuesday)
Venue : Lecture Hall 2, Annexe Building, Faculty of Computer Science &
Information Technology, Universiti Malaya
Time : 10.00am - 12.00pm

Admission is free. Walk-ins are also allowed.

ALL ARE INVITED, but please kindly register your attendance in advance
with cs.chan@um.edu.my.

Abstract of the talk
The Digital Imaging Research Centre will be introduced. Two projects
led by the speaker at Kingston University will be introduced. The
first one a three partner consortium funded by the US Department on
homeland security on augmented video surveillance with the use of
robotic platforms and the second a UK wide project with a consortium
of three sites aimed at the development of pattern recognition methods
for the automatic classification of plants through the analysis of
leaf characters. The latter is a an effort with the collaboration of
the Royal Botanic gardens at Kew.
