CCIS Seminar: Embedded system for Computer Vision Applications

Dear all,

You are cordially invited to the seminar on embedded computer vision
this coming Friday at FICT.The details are as follow:

Venue: PD615
Date: 20 Feb 2009 (Friday)
Time: 2-3pm
Title: Embedded system for Computer Vision Applications
Speaker: Kenny Khoo Kuan Yew
Abstract:
With the high processing power of embedded platforms and ever
increasing size of both volatile and non-volatile storage, it opens up
a great opportunity to integrate computer vision (CV) applications to
these relatively low-cost and stand-alone devices. Current research
provides a study of embedded computer vision (ECV) and design of a
single common ECV platform using ARM-9 embedded processor with
floating-point co-processor. Several type of optimization had been
identified to increases speed of computer vision application. A
preliminary study of FPGA also conducted as a next platform design for
computer vision.

regards,
Yong Haur
